Southgate Independent School District

Southgate Independent School District will be participating in the National School Lunch Program and the School Breakfast Program. As part of this program, Southgate Public School will offer healthy meals every school day at NO COST to the students due to the implementation of the Community Eligibility Provision for school year 2026-27. Students will be able to participate in these meal programs without having to pay a fee or submit a household application.

It's almost time!! Are you ready?! We are so excited to welcome our Southgate Lions back to school tomorrow morning! Remember that our doors open for free breakfast at 7:40am. Our school day begins at 8am and ends at 3pm. We will see you in the morning! Let's go Lions!

Southgate Families - If you want your child to start school on Wednesday, your online registration must be completed by 3:00 p.m. tomorrow (Tuesday). If you need assistance completing the registration, staff will be available at school tomorrow from 8:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m. to help you. Please make sure your registration is completed by the 3:00 p.m. deadline to ensure your child can start Wednesday. Thank you.

Unfortunately, we will have to cancel Cross Country again tonight due to inclement weather. We will see you all next week (and tomorrow night at Readifest). Can't wait to see everyone from 5:30-7!!

🦁 Summer Serve Event Tomorrow! 🦁

We’re excited to partner with First Church for our annual Summer Serve event tomorrow, Monday, August 3rd, from 4:00 – 6:00 PM!

We’re coming together to get our campus ready for our Lions to head back to school. We’d love help with weeding, mulching, playground cleanup, and general repairs. Whether you can stay for 30 minutes or the full two hours, every extra pair of hands makes a big difference!

🧹 What to bring if you have them handy: work gloves, shovel, weedeater, blower, rake

Also, Ms. Betty will be back in the office starting on Monday, August 3. She will work 8a-3p M-F until school starts. Enjoy your last weeks of summer!!
