Our 3rd and 4th graders blew us away this week with their incredible Readers Theatre performances!
🐷 3rd Grade brought the classic Charlotte's Web to life. It was a true collaborative effort, featuring beautiful background murals and decorations that the students worked hard to create in art class.
👑 4th Grade kept the excitement going yesterday by presenting three short, twisted fairy tales. Their performances were absolutely hilarious, and they also featured fantastic, student-made backdrops and decorations!

Hi Southgate families and community members! I wanted to reach out one more time to remind everyone we are celebrating Staff Appreciation Week tand completing our Kentucky State Assessments this week. A couple of reminders and requests:
We are still looking for donations for staff prizes that will be handed out this Thursday. Please feel free to email electronic gift cards directly to
lois.ellison@southgate.kyschools.us for convenience or you can drop off prizes (candles, trinkets, flowers, gift baskets, lottery tickets, gift certificates, fun office supplies, etc.) to the front office any time today or tomorrow. The more small gifts for prizes we collect, the better! If anyone owns a cool business or vacation spot, please email me with cool opportunities I could offer the staff as a raffle prize (ex. free 3 night stay; free car wash tickets; free oil change, etc.).

Next week (May 4-8) is National Teacher Appreciation Week, and our school is celebrating with a fun, fairytale-themed week honoring our teachers and staff. We need your help! Here are two ways we'd love to have you help us celebrate our incredible staff during our Enchanted Staff Appreciation Week:
1) Pixie Prize Pool Raffle - Donations
As part of the celebration, we're hosting lighthearted raffle drawings where staff members can win creative coupons/prizes donated by local businesses and families. We would be honored to include your family and/or business.
The prize can be simple and fun, for example:
- A free appetizer or complimentary dessert
- A free coffee or specialty drink
- A percentage-off coupon
- A small gift card or gift certificate
- Lottery tickets, Movie tickets, Event tickets
- Small gifts of appreciation
- Creative ideas or gifts
2) Thank You Letters
Please use this Well Wish Scrolls link to submit shoutouts and notes of appreciation for our amazing Southgate staff members electronically. Or pick up free printed scrolls at the front office to write on. Feel free to submit as many as you'd like! The more the better! All notes will be printed and delivered to the individuals during appreciation week next week (May 4-8).

Congratulations to our fifth grader, Oliver! He participated in the WCPO Region 1 Spelling Bee with the best spellers from across the tri-state in grades 4-8. Oliver made it to the 3rd round and came in 10th in the region. Pretty impressive!!
