Southgate Public School is proud to announce that Mrs. Brandy Marshall, our first grade teacher, has been selected as the February Staff Member of the Month. We asked Mrs. Marshall to share a little about herself:
"This is only my second year at Southgate, but it feels like I have been part of the family for years! I absolutely love being a Lion and working with our little Lions to instill a love for learning. This is my fifth year teaching first grade, but I have also taught fourth grade and fifth grade. My heart is with first grade, as I love to see them develop from shy kindergartners to confident first graders who become ready to tackle second grade! I love helping students learn and grow so much that I also work with students during the 21st Century Program.
My students tell me I am silly and that I am a lot of fun, but we learn so much! I like to make learning feel like fun experiences! I love animals, pugs especially! I have three of them at home. I also have two French bulldogs and four cats. In my spare time, I enjoy reading and baking. The best part of baking is sharing the goodies with friends and family!
