Southgate Public School is proud to announce that Ms. Meghan Dean, our middle school social studies teacher, has been selected as the April Staff Member of the Month. We asked Ms. Dean to share a little about herself.
"I came to Southgate three years ago after teaching in Covington Independent Schools for 10 years, with this being my 15th total year of teaching. I teach social studies to grades 5-8 here at Southgate and love the connections I have been able to build with students as they remain with me as they journey through middle school. My favorite thing about working here is our small school pride. It is such a unique atmosphere filled with amazing students. In addition to teaching, I am also the Student Council facilitator and help organize events for students throughout the school year.
I have a 10-year-old son, Oliver, who attends 4th grade at Southgate. We enjoy exploring different cities, getting outside and spending time with our family. Along with my boyfriend Tony and his daughter, we like to camp, fish, hike, and have dance parties. Outside of school and family life, I love volleyball. I played in college at Kentucky Wesleyan, coached varsity at Holmes for 5 years and still play in a few sand leagues around town.
I'm so fortunate to have found a place as a Southgate Lion and look forward to building many more memories here! "
