What is FRYSC?
FRYSC stands for Family Resource and Youth Service Center.
The Southgate FRYSC, called Family Connections Resource Center, is located in the Southgate Service Center - which is the house next to the gym entrance of the school
The Kentucky Family Resource and Youth Services Centers were established as part of the historic Kentucky Education Reform Act (KERA) of 1990. The mission of these school-based centers is to help at-risk students succeed in school by helping to minimize or eliminate outside barriers to learning.
Some of our services include:
Summer Enrichment Programs
Assistance with School Supplies
Assistance with Clothing, Shoes, Coats, Hats, Gloves
AmeriCorps Reading Program
Family Literacy Nights
Referrals to Health and Social Services (such as Brighton Center)
Substance Abuse Education and Counseling Referrals
Family Crisis and Mental Health Counseling Referrals
